The Skin Fic

The Skin Fic

Review:

Sometimes i think i need to listen to people when they tell me not to read some fanfictions. But seriously, if someone tells you "Oh my god, this fanfiction is sooo good, you should read it" and "Oh my god, this fanfiction is sooo horrible, you shouldn't read it" which one are you going to choose?

Yes, be a rebel.

So i was told not to read The Skin Fic which is a fanficion on Dan and Phil where people ship them. Well i started a group on facebook called The Worst and Best Fanfictions  Click Here To Join Even though it isn't blooming with millions of posts, you can still have people give you the links, despite their warnings. So i got the link and read it.

It was disgusting.

It starts with Phil complaining over after sun because he forgot to wear sun screen the day before. So now he is peeling and mimicking Dan's voice about not having to wear sunscreen. Phil, i've been in your spot. I'm still peeling from my latest sunburn -.-

Anyways, Phil goes out of the bathroom naked and confronts Dan who is also naked. Well Dan does some pretty weird shit and starts peeling the skin off of Phil with his teeth and Eats it. In this point of the story i figure, they're dating, married, friends with benefits, or just opening like to show their junk to one another. They're totally friends- Dating. I would like to have found out they are just helping each other out as friends by being cannibals. Nope, but they totally did just mess up my idea of shipping them.

Another thing i'd like to point out, why is Dan always the mean one in these fanfics? What the hell did he ever do. Why can't Phil be the mean one for once? But i think the fanfiction i'm about to read is him being mean. Anyways, back on course.

Dan fucking comes on Phil when Phil complains he doesn't have sunscreen. LIKE WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! Dan releases him sperm on the Phil and thats soothing?! I for one thought that sperm was suppose to be hot because it is coming out of a body of 98 degrees. But i don't know, maybe it is cold. I haven't had someone come on me, okay?

In conclusion, if you really want to read some weird shit, check out this fanfiction because seriously, i wish i had brain bleach. However, at least it wasn't like The Hat fanfic where i almost ripped my own head off. Ciao!

"The Host" By Stephenie Meyer

Goodreads Description:

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, didn't expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

As Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she's never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring one of the most unusual love triangles in literature, THE HOST is a riveting and unforgettable novel about the persistence of love and the essence of what it means to be human.

Review:

The Host takes place in the future. Something most books use for its setting. But it takes a little different route than most would expect. This has ought to be the best novel Stephenie Meyer has written. It has the usually "Humans fighting back towards aliens" but it shows what humans would do, even if it means to let your loved one go... well the body part.

Jared has lost Melanie, love of his life. She was taken by the souls and has one ejected into her. Woah...never-mind. I bet you guys already know what the story is about so lets move on.

Wanda and Melanie. Their relationship reminds me of a sister relationship. Melanie did state they had a sister connection at the end and blah blah blah. Touching. Kinda.

Melanie loves Jared. Jared loves Melanie. Though Jared only knows that Wanda is in possession of Melanie's body and therefore, no Melanie. At least to him. Melanie's still in there. Yes, i found it annoying that no one except Uncle Jeb and Jaimie believe she is there but i also find it quite funny how Jared keeps hitting her and not believing shes alive in there. BUT! Right when he starts believing, hes like to Ian "Don't touch her" Well ya know Jared, Ian has feelings too and those are for Wanda. So shut your mouth.

One thing that bothered me to a huge extent was how no one guessed that just maybe, Wanda knew the secret to getting souls out. Like come on! Shes a soul and tectonically speaking, a teacher. DUH!

I don't really get the points for some characters like Walter. I didn't cry when he died. I didn't even feel a sharp pain. I know he was like Wanda's only first friend or what not but still, i wasn't pulled into loving him. I wish Meyer developed him more so we felt an attachment like we would if Jaimie died.

Onto another note: Wanda and Ian's relationship is one messed up thing. I thought Ian would understand that its still Melanie's body he is kissing so yeah, it would annoy Mel. Though, Mel should understand that even though Wanda is a soul that-by-the-time-she-gets-shipped-off-to-a-planet-your-grandchild-would-have-died-from-old-age, has feelings. So its a suck-suck for all

However, there isn't much i need to quarrel about with this book. The writing was better, still could be improved like all books. The characters were very developed except Jared. He seemed like an emotion wreak, but HEY! If someone you loved was taken, replaced when someone/something else, wouldn't YOU be mad? So who knows what goes through his head.

So in conclusion, I'd give this book a 3/5 because Stephenie really stepped up her game and this is something that isn't worth missing.

"The Thistle and the Rose" By Jean Plaidy

Goodreads Description:
Princess Margaret Tudor is the greatest prize when her father, Henry VII, negotiates the Treaty of Perpetual Peace with neighboring Scotland. The betrothal is meant to end decades of bloody border wars, but it becomes a love match: To Margaret’s surprise, she finds joy in her marriage to the dashing James IV of Scotland, a man sixteen years her senior. But the marriage, and the peace it brings to both nations, does not last. When King James is struck down by the armies of Henry VIII, Margaret—Princess of England, but Queen of Scotland—finds herself torn between loyalty to the land and family of her birth and to that of her baby son, now King of the Scots. She decides to remain in Scotland and carve out her own destiny, surviving a scandalous second marriage and battling with both her son and her brother to the very end. Like all the Tudors, Margaret’s life would be one of turmoil and controversy, but through her descendants, England and Scotland would unite as one nation, under one rule, and find peace

 Review:
Despite the fact i have NEVER read from this author, i really enjoy Tudor History. I have read a lot of history but never got around to Margret. I found myself looking through my book shelf and found this book and decided to give it a try. I was expecting to find this book VERY dry and i was surprised that i didn't. I did have a few problems with the writing style. Jean seems to repeat way to much and whoever edited the book did a very bad job for i found many errors in the writing. (Yes, I am a grammar Nazi)The facts were up to date, but i found myself wanting to know the dates that each event happened for it would help me improve my knowledge for history better.

Besides that, i found Margret to be a horny person. She had a desire for almost every hot guy and i found myself yelling at her telling her she is an idiot and a slut. She got mad over the fact that husbands all had bastard children. ITS THE TUDOR AGE! They sleep with everyone! Wasn't she excepting her husbands to sleep with other people? Especially James (Her first husband THE KING!)This bothered me a great deal but this doesn't have to do with the author. Margret (To me) was a slut and could have kept her sexually desires on a lower level. I also got mad at the fact that she married one year after her first husband, the king, died. She hardly waited a year to be exact.

As i have stated already, she repeated and some authors do that, but i am highly surprised the editor let her through with so much repeating errors. In conclusion, i gave this book at 2/3 rating and maybe you'll like to read it too but only if you like history would i recommend it.
